Free Godzilla-inspired FPS

Godzilla: Strike Zone is a free-to-play action game from Warner Bros. In this first-person shooter (FPS) inspired by the Godzilla monster film franchise, you play as a member of an elite military unit tasked with crossing the city ruins and ultimately come face-to-face with the King of the Monsters

Shot entirely in 3D, Godzilla: Strike Zone is a challenging first-person experience that will have you dodging debris, flying cars, fire, and the massive footsteps of Godzilla trampling you. Its combination of action and running is reminiscent of Into the Dead or DEAD TRIGGER 2: Zombie Game FPS Shooter.

Save citizens and escape

From the onset, Godzilla: Strike Zone will get you playing thanks to its brooding soundtrack and its impressive graphics quality. It can get laggy for lower-end devices but it’s detailed and immersive if your device can run it flawlessly. In terms of audio, it can be compared to the 2019 film, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, which is both immersive and foreboding—adding thrill to the game.

In terms of controls, it is intuitive and easy to get used to. Experienced FPS players can compare it to a simplified Call of Duty: Mobile. You have a joystick for directional movement on the left, and a set of action buttons on the right. Whereas the controls are smooth, the animation could use more work. Objects usually pass through each other and cutscenes jump and skip.

For a game with an impressive premise, it’s quite frustrating to see how it has such short gameplay. You get to rescue civilians, find explosives, and find a way to escape Godzilla. While it sounds like much, you can actually finish the entire game in about 15 minutes. This makes the game feel like it needs more content and that there’s no replayability value to this game.

For fun, fast-paced action

The game has a disappointingly short playthrough but Godzilla: Strike Zone still offers a fun experience. Whether you’re a fan of the Godzilla films or just looking for a casual military-inspired game, this will definitely deliver. With overall top-tier visuals and sounds, coupled with an intuitive touchscreen controller, it’s easy to forgive minor animation lapses. Overall, it’s a good short game that can get your adrenaline pumping. Recommended.
